Here at Frank Kent Country, we know a thing or two about vehicles. In fact, the Frank Kent Motor Company dates back to 1935, and Frank Kent, the founder, drew from his automotive experience starting in 1917. Look around the great state of Texas, and you're not going to find that kind of history anywhere else. We've remained a strong member in the fabric of Texas society where others have fallen by the wayside. When other companies were folding during the Great Recession, we remained strong, selling the very best of General Motors through thick and thin. And now here we are, bigger and better than ever. All of this is just part of what makes the Frank Kent Country difference and makes us the top GMC dealer Waco, TX, and the surrounding area has.
Like Frank Kent Country, GMC has been around through thick and thin. GMC recently celebrated its 100-year anniversary just a few years back, but they haven't stopped to rest on their laurels. The company has instead focused its eyes on the future, just like us at Frank Kent Country. Nearly 100 years in business is great, but we're more focused on the next hundred than the previous.
But why GMC over other vehicles? For starters, it's made right here in the United States by hard-working Americans just like you and me. These are people who put their blood and sweat on the line to make some of the finest automotive machines ever produced. That's something we can all get behind.
Beyond that though, GMC is both tough and luxurious. The Denali trims of the trucks and SUVs are unlike anything else out there. From fine wood accents inside mixing with the finest of leather to the rugged, durable exterior that's designed to handle anything and everything, there simply isn't any other manufacturer out there that combines both toughness and luxury together. And yet, even with the perfect union of tough and luxury, the GMC brand packs value. The top-tier trims of other manufacturers cost more than the Denali trim of GMC and yet fail to deliver the same kind of performance under the hood and luxury touches inside the cabin. So when you want luxury and toughness, GMC is the only option.
There are other GMC dealers in the area. So why should you visit us here at Frank Kent Country for the latest in GMC trucks and SUVs? Because we know Texas. We know what you're looking for in a pickup. And how do we know? Because all of us here are Texans, just like you. We know what you want. We're not outsiders who have been flown down from New York or Los Angeles to try and sell some SUVs and pickups. Because frankly, they wouldn't know what you'd want. We bleed Texas. And sure, some of us here might be Longhorn fans while others might be part of the 12th man with A&M, we're all about Texas here. And we believe that helps make a big difference.
Beyond understanding what you want, we also pride ourselves in providing the very best in service. You won't find many companies surviving nearly 100 years of business with poor customer service. Here we back up the vehicles we sell with customer service you won't find anywhere else. So whether you want to stop by early in the morning for a cup of coffee while looking over the lot or you have questions about financing or what the best truck for your trailer is, our entire staff is here specifically for you.
And speaking of financing, we understand life isn't always peachy. Sometimes it can throw out a nasty curve and drop you on your backside. Yet you'll still need a vehicle. We want to help you with that. So, where other dealers might turn you away due to poor credit, we'll go over your finances to help establish what you can afford and what will fit into your budget. Plus, with our wide selection of pre-owned vehicles, we have all kinds of options available. If others have turned you away, bring your financials here to Frank Kent Country and let us work with you.
All of this kicked off with Frank Kent starting his career in the automotive industry back in 1917. Frank fell in love with working on cars. He loved to get his hands dirty and helped build, repair, and sell vehicles throughout Fort Worth. He then went on to found the Frank Kent Motor Company in 1935, 18 years after he started up in the industry.
He remained working on vehicles and served as the Chairman of the Board up until his passing in 1987. The business remained in the family though, passing on to his granddaughter, Wendy Kent Churchill. She became the full-time president of the company in 1995 and remained in that position for the next decade. Not long after, her children, Corrie and Will took on the company and remain the current heads of the Frank Kent Country business. They, like their great grandfather, use the business motto of "Morals, values, and ethics over profit."
The fact of the matter is Frank Kent Country has been around for over 80 years now and is as strong as it ever has been before. It's also remained in the family this entire time. We believe this is important. It hasn't been taken over by corporate entities who are looking to squeeze every penny out of operation. There's something very special in a family operated business. Because while we have grown over the years, it remains very family-centric. We care more about our customers and putting them in the best vehicle for the best price over nickel and diming someone in a sale. We don't believe in that, which is just one of the many reasons why we've remained an important part of Texas for so long.

To get you one step closer to finding the car you want, here is an overview of some of our most popular models.
If you are searching GMC dealers near Waco for a pickup, then you are probably looking for a variant of the Sierra 1500. This versatile vehicle comes in numerous configurations and has no fewer than five different engine options. While the base trim of the Sierra 1500 does not have any unnecessary features, it does have plenty of power. The base engine is 285 horsepower 4.3L V6, and this can be upgraded to either a 310 horsepower 2.7L turbo or a 355 horsepower 5.3L V8. The base trim is also available with a number of advanced safety features, including Lane Change Alert, Rear Cross Traffic Alert, and Front and Rear Park Assist.
Stepping up to the higher SLE or Elevation trims will add interior upgrades such as a larger 4.2” Driver Information Center, a leather-wrapped steering wheel, and standard cruise control. And while it loses the V6 engine of the base trim, it gains the option of a 3.0L turbo-diesel that produces 460 lb-ft of torque. These two trims also offer many optional features, including a power-adjustable driver’s seat, dual-zone automatic climate control, and a heated steering wheel, while the Elevation trim also has GMC’s versatile six-function MultiPro tailgate.
The top SLT, AT4, and Denali trims bring even more luxuries like power-adjustable front seats and a seven-speaker Bose sound system. These trims also offer additional advanced safety options, including Lane Keep Assist, Automatic Emergency Braking, Adaptive Cruise Control, and a Following Distance Indicator. And the Denali trim also adds its unique adaptive ride control and massive 8” Driver Information Center. Finally, the AT4 and Denali trims are available with a 420 horsepower 6.2L V8 and an industry-first carbon-fiber composite bed. If you still are not sure which trim is right for you, come visit our GMC dealership near Waco and look at them in person.
If you need something with more power than the Sierra 1500, then you might want to consider the GMC Sierra 2500 HD. Despite sharing a name with the Sierra 1500, the Sierra 2500 HD is a significantly larger vehicle intended for heavy-duty work. The powertrain options of the 2500 HD are also entirely different and consist of two 6.6L V8 engines - one gasoline and one diesel. The gasoline engine puts out 401 horsepower and 464 lb-ft of torque, while the diesel engine offers 445 horsepower and a monstrous 910 lb-ft of torque as well as a superior Allison ten-speed automatic transmission. These powertrain options make the Sierra 2500 a particularly good choice if you need a truck with a high tow rating.
Despite these significant differences between the Sierra 2500 and the Sierra 1500, the trim levels of the two models are very similar. The greatest differences are that both of the engine options for the Sierra 2500 are available on all of its trims and that the larger truck does not offer an Elevation trim level. However, the main features of the other five trims remain unchanged. The base trim is a no-frills vehicle, the SLE trim adds some basic features, and the SLT, AT4, and Denali trims are true luxury trucks. Unsure whether the Sierra 2500 is right for you? Then take one for a test drive at our Waco GMC dealership.
Perhaps you need more room than a pickup can provide. With seating for five people and generous cargo space, the GMC Terrain is a compact SUV that makes for a great do-it-all vehicle. All of the trims of the GMC Terrain are fairly luxurious and include features such as keyless open and start, active noise cancellation, and IntelliBeam smart headlights. However, the base SL trim has a smaller driver’s information screen and lacks some of the options found on the next-higher SLT trim, including a power driver’s seat, dual-zone climate control, and a power liftgate. Still, you cannot go wrong with either of these trims, and they are both popular sellers at our GMC dealership.
If you want to upgrade from the base 170 horsepower 1.5L turbocharged engine, then the more powerful 252 horsepower 2.0L turbo is only offered on the SLE and Denali trims. In addition to this more powerful engine option, the SLE trim also adds more luxury features such as a hands-free programmable power liftgate, a heated steering wheel, and a larger 8” infotainment screen with HD radio and a seven-speaker Bose sound system. The top Denali trim takes it further with items like LED headlights, heated and vented front seats, and even heated rear seats. But no matter the trim, the GMC Terrain offers a full suite of advanced safety equipment that includes Forward Collision Alert, Automatic Emergency Braking, Lane Keep Assist, and a Following Distance Indicator.
If the Terrain, or even the larger GMC Acadia, is too small for your needs, then the full-size GMC Yukon is the SUV for you. Built on a rear-wheel drive platform for maximum performance, the Yukon comes in two sizes––the standard Yukon offers 24.8 inches of third-row legroom and 15.3 cubic feet of cargo space with all of its seats in place, while the larger Yukon XL is almost two feet longer overall and has 34.5 inches of legroom in the back and 39.3 cubic feet of cargo space.
Although the standard Yukon is already a step up from a midsize crossover SUV and can fit up to nine people with its optional front bench seat. The Yukon XL is the vehicle of choice if you need to regularly carry adults or large children in the back seats. But the best way to decide which one is right for you is to examine them in person at our Waco dealership.
No matter which version of the Yukon you prefer, they have the same trims and features. As with the Terrain, the bottom SLE and SLT Standard Edition trims of the Yukon are only sold with the base engine, while the higher SLT and Denali trims offer a second more powerful option. In the case of the Yukon, the base engine is a 5.3L V8 with 355 horsepower, while the upgrade is a 6.2L V8 with 420 horsepower. All trims of the Yukon also come standard with tri-zone automatic climate control, remote start, and an 8” infotainment system with HD radio and nine-speaker Bose audio. However, keyless entry is reserved for the SLT and Denali trims, and only the Denali trim gets active noise cancellation.
