Pearce Collections Museum

The Pearce Museum at Navarro College has a few exhibits including the Civil War, Hunters Gatherers, and Western Art. Depending on the time of year that you might decide to check it out, the museum hosts special events, some of which include solo artists and musicians. Unfortunately, on Sundays, the museum is closed to the public but opens Monday-Friday 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM, and Saturdays 12 PM to 4 PM. You can find their location at 3100 W. Fullerton-Garrity Park

If you’re looking for something easy, quick, and cheap, then Fullerton-Garrity Park might be what you want. It’s a 25.5-acre park that has tennis and basketball courts, hiking, picnic tables and grills, a playground, an amphitheater, biking trails, and many other outdoor activities. There are bathrooms that are well taken care of, and electricity to charge any of your devices. Fullerton-Garrity Park is open every day from 5:00 AM to 11:00 PM, so it’s always a good go-to when looking for something to do when everything else is closed. The park is located at 3201 McKnight Lane in Corsicana.

Jester Park

Jester Park pool is a public pool, but it’s actually pretty nice. It only costs $3, so the whole family can join in on the fun! What’s awesome about Jester Park Pool is that it can be rented for pool parties for $100; perfect for birthdays. The maximum occupancy is 200, so there will never be more strangers than that, but that’s also a lot of people to invite to a pool party, it’s really a win-win. The pool is closed on Mondays and Tuesdays, open 1:00 PM to 6:00 PM on Wednesday-Saturday, and 1:00 PM to 5:00 PM on Sunday. Anyone under ten must be accompanied by a legal adult that is over the age of 18.

Angelita Vineyard & Winery

Although Angelita Vineyard & Winery is located just outside of Corsicana, Texas, you’d be making a poor decision to sleep on this place. You have the options to enjoy their wine over tastings, flight, by the glass, or the bottle. Appetizers are also available, one of which is the cheese plate that perfectly compliments the wine. You may be seated indoors with soft, ambient music, or outside looking over acres of Blanc Du Bois Vines. Their summer hours include Thursday and Sunday 12:00 PM to 6:00 PM, Friday and Saturday 12:00 PM to 8:00 PM, and Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday are appointment only. Pioneer Village

Many people, mostly kids, find history boring, but Pioneer Village takes a step back in time to be able to experience how life was in the 1800s, but without the diseases. It’s considered an eclectic museum because on top of the real-life history experience; there is also memorabilia from Lefty Frizzell. There are plenty of activities to keep the whole family entertained for a day trip. Prices range from $3 to $5 depending on age and other discounts, but it’s a great opportunity for the price. Lake Halbert Park

Lake Halbert is a massive 145-acre park with a ton of activities to participate in. There are courts for baseball/softball, basketball, soccer fields, and league sports if you want to take it up a notch. If team sports aren’t really your thing, you can take your boat out and go fishing, as long as you have permits which they can provide. RV spaces are available if you want to take a weekend to experience all that Lake Halbert Park has to offer. This park is located at 1600 Lake Halbert Road Corsicana and is open every day from 5:00 AM to 11:00 PM. Schulman’s Movie Bowl Grille

Schulman’s Movie Bowl Grille is so much more than just dinner and a movie. On top of being able to watch whatever new movie you’d like, they offer full meals. That means rather than just a few slices of pizza; you can choose from appetizers, burgers, sandwiches, desserts, and plenty of other options, including a bar with specialty drinks. Schulman’s is also an arcade with 42 different games to play, so you’re sure to encounter a bit of nostalgia on top of something new to play. Sunday to Thursday, they’re open from 9:30 AM to 10:30 PM, and Friday to Saturday they’re open 9:30 AM to 11:00 PM. There are a few locations, but you can find the Corsicana location at 3501 Corsicana Crossing Blvd.

Navarro Mills Lake

A great place to go camping or fishing is Navarro Mills Lake. Its a professional and knowledgeable environment for those who are into wildlife one way or another. Navarro Mills Lake is run by Texas Parks and Wildlife, so you’ll know that when sticking to their regulations, that you’re not negatively impacting the environment. On their website, you’ll be able to find specific conditions and how they’ll impact hunting and fishing opportunities as well as the types of fish you can find and tips and tricks. Navarro Mills Lake is located North of Texas 31, between Waco and Corsicana making for an easily accessible trip. You might even find yourself wanting to take advantage of education and volunteering opportunities.

Warehouse Living Arts Center

The Warehouse Living Arts Center is a great place for creative people to get together and show off what they have to offer. The main stage is where local actors and actresses can perform in theatre productions, whether experienced or new to the scene. The gallery allows artists creating in all forms of media to put their pieces out in an exhibition. You don’t have to be creative to enjoy the performances or exhibitions. Tickets range from $8 to $20, depending on the age of the person, when the tickets are purchased, and the location of the seats.
