Our number one goal is to stay up to date on all the latest announcements and releases so that you, our customers, are the first to hear about it. As a leading Chevy dealership near Waco, we are fully committed to staying up to date on all of the latest information. Since the turn of the new year, there is plenty of news surrounding the 2021 Chevy models that are to soon hit the pavement. One such model is the 2021 Chevy Colorado. Here is a midsize pickup truck that was already capable of doing it all.

Although Chevrolet has taken things to the next level by adding more of what drivers loved so much in the 2020 model, the 2021 model will go one step further. While the latest Chevy Colorado is still a long way out from arriving in our showroom, our team of auto experts is staying up to date on all of the latest news. When you are ready to talk about this new model or to check out the current inventory, visit us in Corsicana today.

The Last Generation of Chevy Colorado

The last generation of the Chevy Colorado was a tremendous hit, providing drivers with the kind of utility and power that one should be able to expect from a midsize pickup of its class. The 2020 Chevy Colorado rolled onto our showroom floor with plenty of pomp and circumstance, thanks to its wide range of trims, diversity of powertrains, sizeable truck bed, and incredible technology packed beneath the chassis.

The 2020 Chevy Colorado comes in five stunning different configurations the Base, Work Truck (WT), LT, Z71, and ZR2. Each trim carries its one specific value, catering to a different kind of pickup driver. While the Base model sits on the lower end of power, it is no small fry with its 2.5-liter 4-cylinder engine that gets up to 200 horsepower and 191 lb-ft of torque and utilizes an 8-speed manual or automatic transmission to make it all happen. This entry-level model also comes standard with rear-wheel drive, which gives it the extra power to haul a maximum of 3,500 pounds. This Base model is an impressive start.

Should you wish it, you could bump up the power and capability of the 2020 Chevy Colorado quite quickly, with most models getting a 308 horsepower 3.6-liter V6 engine that is responsible for 275 lb-ft of torque and that has a max towing capacity of 7,000 pounds. Buyers could also take advantage of a turbo-diesel powered engine in the form of a 2.8-liter Duramax Turbo-Diesel 4-cylinder engine that has an output of 181 horsepower and 369 lb-ft of torque making it the ultimate torque-heavy pickup.

Although, the 2020 Chevy Colorado isn’t all power-focused. The 2020 Chevy Colorado sports two different bed and cab options, giving drivers a choice between an extended or crew cab. Inside, drivers and passengers can either find cloth or lush leather upholstery, depending on the trim. In the center console of even the base model was a 7.0-inch infotainment touchscreen equipped with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.

That’s not to mention that when you pay the entry-level price, you’ll get a four-way power-adjustable driver’s seat, something that’d typically cost extra in most models. And if you want more luxurious accommodations, they could be easily had in higher trim levels. For instance, the LT trim adds the option of heated seats, leather seating, a sunroof, and a Bose designed audio system. On top of all that, the LT model sports a variety of active safety features, including forward-collision and lane-departure warnings, which gives drivers a superior level of awareness on the road.

So, what’s changing in the 2021 model? Well, for one, you should still be able to expect the same great performance from a pickup with a diverse range of power and specifications. With more tech, a new paint job, and more rugged capability, the new Chevy Colorado is bound to push all your expectations to the next level.

The Next Generation of Chevy Colorado

The newest generation of the Chevy Colorado was unveiled to the world earlier this year to much anticipation. The midsize pickup truck is still a long way out from hitting showrooms; however, what we know has got our sales team and even some of our customers jittery with anticipation. What we know now is rather minimal; however, we do that the Chevy Colorado will make its official debut on October 10th, and the new 2021 Chevy Colorado ZR2 will make a much-awaited appearance in Las Vegas at the SEMA show.

So what do you have to get hyped about? Well, the 2021 Chevy Colorado will sport far more dramatic differences between trim levels, giving in to more expansive specifications and configurations between models. On top of that, drivers can purchase the off-road-ready Chevy Colorado Z71 and ZR2 in a “Sand Dune Metallic” paint. But there are more changes to this midsize pickup truck than just a new color.

The exterior styling is getting a complete revamp, with WT, LT, and Z71 models getting refreshed center bars, front skid plates, and lower fascias. As a result of this changeup of appearance, the 2021 Chevy Colorado is bound to look much different than the last generation, and we hardly have a problem with that. There will be more than just aesthetic changes, too, with the ZR2 receiving a full package of off-road gear updates.

The new 2021 Chevy Colorado ZR2 will capitalize on its off-road capability, which is great news, as the existing package is already well-fleshed out. Front and rear electronic locking differentials, off-road rocker protection, cast-iron control arms, skid plates, and automatic transfer case, will now be joined by the addition of red tow hooks which can come in handy when the trail gets particularly rough.

While a lot is changing for the 2021 Chevy Colorado, some great things are remaining the same. The same set of powertrains found in 2020 models will still be found in the next generation. So you’ll be able to still enjoy the solid power of a 308 horsepower 3.6-liter V6 engine.

There is a lot we already love about the 2021 Chevy Colorado, and our team of auto experts is looking forward to what Chevrolet will unveil next about this incredible new pickup truck.

Easing Your Anticipation at Frank Kent Country

Arguably, the 2021 Chevy Colorado is bound to be a truly spectacular pickup truck made with power and utility in front of mind. We’re also quite excited about the revamp of the Chevy Colorado’s line of rugged off-road pickup trucks, which have already earned plenty of praise by some of our local off-roading enthusiasts. While we may be several months out from the next generation of Chevy Colorado, we’re certainly thrilled to help you wait out the anticipation. At Frank Kent Country, we believe the best way to satisfy your excitement is to give last year’s model of the Chevy Colorado a test drive or two, so you can get an idea of what to expect with the next generation.
