Drive Your Dream Car With One Of These 2020 Chevy Corvette Stingray Trims

A blue 2020 Chevy Corvette is driving through a tunnel after leaving a Chevy dealership.

There’s truly nothing like the classic Corvette. It is the car everyone eyes when they are visiting the Chevy dealership. And, no matter where you are in the country, when a Corvette drives by, you simply have to stop and watch. It almost takes your breath away. And yet the Corvette is infinitely less expensive than the kind of European performance cars it goes up against. It truly is within your grasp. But which 2020 Chevy Corvette is right for you? While the best way to experience the Corvette is to visit us at Frank Kent Country in Corsicana, TX, we first want to tell you a little more about the different 2020 Corvette Stingray trim levels.

Corvette Stingray 1LT

There is a simple kind of enjoyment you get when turning on the ignition of your own Stingray. The sound and feel of a 6.2L V8 engine purring to life is a pure pleasure, and yet it is one you can relive day in and day out. We won’t judge you if you sit outside in your parked car and keep on firing up the engine for this reason alone. Heck, we do it ourselves. This trim starts with 455 hp and 460 lb-ft of torque. When you add the performance exhaust, though, these numbers hop up to 460 hp and 465 lb-ft of torque. This is the performance of a supercar, and yet it is a fraction of the price. Plus, the ability to hit 60 miles per hour at 2.9 seconds is nothing to scoff at either.

The 1LT trim comes packed with a 10-speaker Bose audio system. After all, your engine already sounds good. Might as well make sure your sound system is spitting tunes in the highest quality audio possible. This trim features up to three-seat color options, a driver mode selector, and two 8-inch diagonal HD color displays for you to control.

2LT

The next trim up is the 2LT. You’re going to find the same engine is used with the different Stingray trims, so when shopping around, you’ll be choosing a trim based on mostly interior features. With the 2LT, you receive added console instrumentation panels and door panels with varying color options not available with the 1LT. The seats are also heated and vented. This way, when you want to enjoy the ‘Vette, and yet it’s a little chilly, you can just turn on the heated seats.

With the 2LT a Head-Up Display (HUD) is added, so you can keep your eyes on the road as information is projected in front of you on the front windshield. It also ups the speaker system to a 14-speaker Bose premium audio system. The 2LT also comes with a front curb view camera. This way, if you no longer guess just how close your Corvette is to the curb when parking.

3LT

With the 3LT, you’ll land a new custom leather-wrapped interior. This gives you the highest quality interior touches that take your Corvette driving experience to a new level. The Napa leather seating is plush, comfortable, and few other vehicles on the road can compete with this kind of high-end leather.

To keep your head and neck comfortable, the upper interior trim and headliner are adorned with sued. This is much softer on your head and neck and yet maintains the high-end, leather look. The 3LT also comes with a performance data recorder and navigation. Because what fun is having a Corvette if you’re not able to compare performance specs with past drives? You can do it all with the 3LT package.

There are also additional color options for the interior on the 3LT. YOu have a total of 13 interior color options to choose from. This way, you can get down into the customization of your brand new Corvette.

Z51 Performance Package

The Corvette Stingray comes with the three available trims. However, you can further customize your Corvette by adding a Z51 Performance Package. This package is available for all trim types, so don’t worry if there is one trim you like, and yet you still want to include the Performance Package.

With the Z51, you will add an upgraded performance suspension. This will make handling turns and driving at higher speeds that much more comfortable. Some cars can hit higher rates, yet the suspension is clunky and isn’t able to keep up. That will not be the case when adding the Z51.

It also comes with Brembo brake rotors. These rotors are slotted, while most other factory-installed rotors you receive are smooth. What is the advantage of having slotted disc brake rotors? When traveling at high speeds, you need to brake faster as well. When you have smooth brake rotors, and the brake pads are pressed against the rotors, there isn’t a ton of traction. Your car will stop, but there aren’t any “teeth” in the rotor to add extra stopping power. With slotted disc rotors, it has this added grip, which in turn will help slow your car down even faster. Not only do slotted disc brakes look good when checking out the wheels of your Corvette, but it helps with slowing you down as well.

Your Z51 Performance Package will feature electronic limited-slip differential, plus when you pop the hood, you’ll find a dry-sump oil system that will make sure you have oil being delivered to the engine during extreme cornering.

Convertible Option

Much like the Z51 Performance Package being available for all trims, you can also spring for a convertible instead of a hardtop. You don’t need to select a particular trim over another if you want a convertible. You can also combine the convertible and Z51 Performance Package if you’d like.

There isn’t too much of a difference between the fixed roof or convertible design. In fact, the only real performance difference is the convertible weighs 77 pounds more (yup, the convertible has added roll bars and other safety features over the regular coupe design, which is why it has some additional weight to the frame). Beyond this, though, the horsepower, torque, and 0-60 speeds are all the same.

Seating Options

Some seating design features are different, depending on the trim you go for (although you can upgrade your seats based on your trim). Both the 1LT and the 2LT come with a standard GT1 seat. This kind of seat is wrapped in a Mulan leather and gives ample cushioning support for longer rides. The next step up is the GT2. This can be selected as an upgraded seat option for the 2LT, although it does come standard on the 3LT. This seat is constructed from carbon fiber, so it is not as heavy, while the halo seatback helps improve airflow to your neck.

You can also opt for the Competition Sport upgrade seat. This has performance textiles in high-wear areas (around the knees and elbows) to reduce wear and tear.
