SUVs and pickups currently have the lion’s share of the new car market. As commutes lengthen and safety concerns grow, more and more people are turning to larger vehicles. Buick read the signs and decided to focus on what the people want. Because of that, the Buick line is now entirely SUVs and crossovers that appeal to any type of driver. In fact, we think that Buick SUVs are especially perfect for residents of Ennis. When you are looking for a Buick dealership near you in Texas, look no further than Frank Kent Country. Located in Corsicana, we have a great selection of Buicks for drivers in Ennis and the surrounding areas.

Small and Versatile: Encore and Encore GX

Buick’s current offerings begin with the 2021 Encore. With a starting MSRP of $23,200, the Encore gets an EPA-estimated 24 MPG city and 30 MPG highway. Despite its smaller size, the Encore still seats up to five and has the possibility of over 48 cubic cargo feet. Besides a flat-folding second row of seats, you can also fold the front passenger seat down to transport longer items, like flat-pack furniture.

There are two trim packages available, and the Preferred line has more available options, including all-wheel drive and two safety packages. The first safety package includes rear cross traffic alert, side blind zone alert, and a 120-volt power outlet. The second has Rainsense wipers, front and rear park assist, forward collision alert, and a lane departure warning. So, this small yet functional SUV is perfect for keeping you safe on your daily commute through historic downtown.

Next in the Buick line is the subcompact 2021 Encore GX. The Encore GX is only about three inches longer than the Encore, but that doesn’t make it any less versatile at fitting through city streets. The Encore GX starts at $24,200 and comes with more options than the regular Encore. You can select from a 1.2L turbocharged I-3 with a CVT or a 1.3L turbocharged I-3 with either a CVT or 9-speed automatic transmission.

Besides coming in more colors than the base Encore, the Encore GX has three trim options: Preferred, Select, and Essence. Even the Preferred Encore GX comes with Buick’s Driver Confidence safety package with forward collision alert, following distance indicator, automatic emergency braking, lane keep assist with lane departure warning, IntelliBeam headlamps, and front pedestrian braking. The Select adds a lane change alert with a side blind zone alert, along with heated front seats and a remote starter system. The Essence line comes standard with leather-appointed seating along with a heated steering wheel, a special ionizing cabin air filtration system, and a 120-volt outlet, and you have the option to add automatic parking assist. So, for drivers who need a nimble vehicle to get them anywhere, choose an Encore or Encore GX.

The Movie Night SUV

The 2020 Envision is a foot longer than the Encore GX, which brings the cargo space up to an available 57.3 inches. With all that cargo space, it’s perfect for taking the family out to a movie night at the Galaxy Drive-In Theatre. You can fit all the pillows and blankets you need while you travel, then fold down the back seats and stretch out while you enjoy a movie on the outdoor silver screen.

The Envision has a starting MSRP of $33,500. There are five trim options: Envision 1SV, Preferred, Essence, Premium, and Premium II. The 1SV only comes in front-wheel drive, while the Premium and Premium II Envisions only come in all-wheel drive. Packages don’t start until the Preferred level, and the Essence is where you’ll first see standard heated front seats and an optional moonroof, along with more safety features.

Perfect for the Family: Enclave and Enclave Avenir

Next, we move on to the Enclave. With an MSRP of $40,000, the Enclave is nearly 20 inches longer than the Envision with an EPA-estimated gas mileage of 18 MPG in the city and 26 MPG on the highway with front-wheel drive and seating for seven. This model is perfect for taking the whole gang along to drive the Bluebonnet Trails every spring. In the meantime, this Buick is perfect for shuffling the whole family around during the day or packing up for a weekend camping trip.

The Enclave comes standard with a hands-free power liftgate and has an available moonroof. There are four trim options, and even the lowest tier, the Preferred, comes standard with heated front seats and remote starting. You do have to bump up to the Essence trim if you’re looking for safety features like lane change alert and rear cross traffic alert. Additional safety options on the Premium model include a safety alert seat and automatic emergency braking.

At the top of the line, we have the 2020 Enclave Avenir. While technically a part of the Enclave line, this model is the peak of luxury for the Buick SUVs with a starting MSRP of $53,800. One evidence of the Enclave Avenir’s luxury is its standard leather-appointed seating in both of the front two rows. Wireless phone charging is standard on the Enclave Avenir, as are safety features, including rear cross traffic alert and lane change alert with side blind zone alert. The front seats come standard with heat and massage, and the third row of seats has power-folding. The Avenir also comes standard with a moonroof. The Avenir’s style and luxury is the perfect companion for a ladies’ afternoon at Sugar Ridge Winery.

Across the Line Features

No matter which Buick SUV or crossover you choose, it will come with the StabiliTrak system, an upgraded version of traction control. During a slip or slide, StabiliTrak can help the vehicle regain control before you can react; very handy during the wet and windy winters in Ennis. Another reason for Buick’s popularity is its QuietTuning Technology. QuietTuning tunes out the distraction of road sounds thanks to triple door seals and special acoustic glass in the windshield and front side windows. With that quieter ride, you can better hear your favorite tunes, accessed through the Buick Infotainment System.

The LCD touchscreen operates just like that on your smartphone and tablet and connects you to standard AM/FM waves, with SiriusXM as an option. You can also use it to connect your smartphone or table to access Apple CarPlay or Android Auto and make hands-free phone calls. More than just a radio, the Infotainment system allows access to navigation, if you choose, and you can use it to adjust climate and seat settings, as well as to get a weather forecast. The infotainment screen is also where you’ll see what’s behind you with the rear vision camera, standard on all Buicks.

In 2017, Buick debuted Marketplace, an in-vehicle productivity app. One thing you can do with Marketplace is order carryout from your family’s favorite restaurants. Grab the family dinner from the Cotton Patch Cafe or treat yourself to a meal from Bella Italia. Marketplace can even keep track of your favorite meals for easier reordering. If you’d prefer to eat in, Marketplace connects with Yelp so you can make a reservation at your favorite restaurant.

With Marketplace, you can activate pumps and pay for gas at participating Exon, Mobil, Shell, Phillips 66, Conoco, and 76 gas stations, getting you on the way to that carryout meal or dinner reservation that much faster. Marketplace also allows you to find and pay for parking via ParkWhiz and book a hotel through Priceline. When you make a hotel reservation through Priceline using the Marketplace app, you can even get special discounts just for being a Buick owner. Setting up Marketplace is easy with your dashboard touchscreen. Get ready to cross off your to-do list from the comfort of your driver’s seat.
